I live in Angmering with my husband and 3 grown up children, all of whom have a CRB/DBS check and our dog (who usually goes to work with my husband during the day). I have been an Ofsted registered childminder since May 2010 and previously worked at St Margarets School in Angmering for 6 1/2 years as a teaching assistant supporting down syndrome and Autistic children in class with their peers, also helping small groups of children. Here I gained in-depth knowledge, understanding and experience of working with children of all ages and abilities, helping them to develop as individuals.
I provide childcare between Tuesday and Friday and during this time the children have access to the ground floor of my house, garden and the wider outdoor environment. Toys are easily accessible and can be moved from one area to another by the children. I provide a wide selection of age and stage appropriate toys and child friendly furniture to encourage development, self confidence and independence. It is mandatory for me to follow the EYFS framework and to ensure I meet the welfare, learning and development requirement of the children in my care and that all of the children are included, encouraged, supported and observed in all age appropriate areas of learning. I am member of the Forest childcare Association which promotes my beliefs in the children having daily/weekly opportunities for outdoor activities. I take the children on woodland walks, the park, the beach and surrounding areas to help with their development. I attend groups if the children so wish and have contact with other childminders. Above all during the time children are in my care I will provide a warm and welcoming environment where they can have fun, learn, grow and develop as individuals.
