Angmering Childminding Services
I have been an Ofsted registered childminder since July 2013. I aim to provide you and your child with the best childcare service possible and I genuinely want your child to thrive and be happy during their time with me. With a great balance of indoor and outdoor child-centred activities, I hope your child's days will be filled with enjoyment, excitement and wonder at the beautiful and interesting world around us.
With a sensitive and attentive child-centred approach, plenty of time outdoors to explore our natural world and time indoors to reflect, re-charge, investigate educational resources and consolidate learning, I hope to give your child a fantastic all-round balance which nurtures 'the whole child'.

Training & Experience
I have been an Ofsted registered childminder since July 2013, with certificates for CACHE training (Council for Awards in Care, Health and Education), paediatric first aid, child protection, Health & Safety, Food Safety and Mathematical Development in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
I have been working part-time up until recently with experience in caring for children aged 9 months to 5 years and therefore facilitating learning across all areas and levels of the Early Years Foundation Stage. I also have experience of doing school collections and caring for older children after school.
Typical Weekly Activities
In my setting we like to do our structured activities earlier in the morning, before 10am, leaving us to go outdoors and enjoy as much time as we can in nature thereafter. We try to spend good weather days outdoors and rainy days either extending our indoor activities or visiting a family centre, library etc.
I place a big emphasis on reading to young children and I have made 26 story sacks all based on a different theme (like; dinosaurs, baby animals, our bodies, artists, the ocean, the jungle, minibeasts, the seasons to name a few) which are turned around weekly. I also have 4 seasonal story sacks which I turn around seasonally and are a great way of giving children a feel for the seasons turning.
I have a child-centred approach and will always follow your child’s emerging interests and answer their questions as a priority. I like the Montessori way of doing things (although I am not a teacher) and I have low level shelves for children to independently choose their own activities. I have Montessori continent boxes for learning about the world around us and lots of animal figures belonging to each animal kingdom.
I believe my setting excels in inspiring imaginary play and I love to watch young children really get absorbed into their own imaginary worlds. After spending the best part of the morning and early afternoon exploring the world around us we are usually home for about 2.30pm where young children can relax and rest if they need to or play freely with the multitude of imaginary play materials and educational materials I have on offer.
I have two garden trampolines (one for under 3’s and one for 3’s and over) which are wonderful for having fun and bouncing off excess energy. I have coloured pencils and crayons available at any time for budding artists. I believe I provide a safe, happy and interesting setting for any child to thrive.
Although I generally work Monday-Friday 8am -6pm I like to be flexible in my opening times and can start earlier from 6am and occasionally work later up to 7pm. I also don’t mind working some weekends when needed.
I can collect children from local primary schools St. Wilfreds or St. Margarets.
